Prescription Verification

For U.S. Customers Only

Aprileye will always protect the health of our customers. According to the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act (FCLCA), it's the responsibility of any contact lens seller to verify a customer's prescription before selling contact lenses (US).

How Does The Process Work?

First, you provide us with prescribing information, which we then submit to your prescribing physician in a verification request. Your prescriber has 8 business hours to respond. If the prescriber doesn't respond within the allotted time, the prescription is automatically verified and we may provide you with contact lenses.

1. Submit The Copy

In order to start verification, you will need to upload a valid copy (photo/scan) of your prescription. There are two ways that work best for you to handle it in the most efficient and easiest way:

  • When you create an account with Aprileye
  • When you checkout in your cart

You can also submit a copy or photo scan to email: info@aprileye.com with your name and order ID.

2. Verification Request to Your Prescriber

Please provide us with your prescriber's name and contact information, such as email or phone number, and we will contact them directly to verify your prescription as soon as possible. As mentioned above, the contact lens rule allows prescribers an 8 business hour response time, after which the prescription will be automatically verified if there is no response. Additionally, business hours are defined as one hour between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the prescriber's time zone, excluding federal holidays.

What should I do if I don't have a contact lens prescription?

You could easily find a doctor near you to schedule tests with some online related service providers such as Visibly. Please send us a copy after receiving your prescription.
